Camí de Ronda (Coastal Path)
The maritime Palamós can be followed along the Camí de Ronda (Coastal Path), which starts at Platja Gran de Palamós, climbs towards El Pedró, skirts the coast to the east and heads towards Cap Roig. We will find the Marina port, the Morro del Vedell i els Pots cove and some stairs that lead to Cala Margarida at the foot of Cap Gros. The path leads us to the beach of La Fosca, shallow and facing southeast. Up to Castell we highlight:
- The Castle of Sant Esteve de Mar, which dates from the 12th-13th centuries and is part of the origins of Palamós. It ended its days converted into a country house.
- Cala S’Alguer, an urban miniature by the sea and a Cultural Asset of National Interest for its landscape values. It was a neighbourhood of fishermen’s huts dating back to the 15th century. It was a neighbourhood of fishermen’s huts dating back to the 15th century.
- Platja de Castell (Castell Beach): this place has been kept isolated and preserved by popular will, the crudest cleanliness of the landscape.
- Iberian village of Castell: we can approach the archaeological remains of the Iberian site (6th century BC to the 2nd century AD).

Ruta del tren petit (small train route) “Greenway”
On March 23, 1887, the Tren Petit made its first journey that connected Palamós with Girona via La Bisbal d’Empordà.
Today, on the old route of this railway there is the Tren Petit Route. This is a 10.7-kilometer greenway that connects our town with Palafrugell. Along its route you can admire the characteristic landscapes of the Empordà and at the same time cross the plain of the Aubi, which is surrounded by the Gavarres massif and the mountains of Begur.
Its simplicity and low difficulty make the Tren Petit Route an excellent way out for a family trip, either by bike or on foot.
